In Linping, Hangzhou, a piece of land is redefining "agriculture." It is not only a testing ground for technology but also a showcase for architectural aesthetics. This is the highly anticipated [Tianlifang · Future Farm].
This "futuristic" farm is a microcosm of local comprehensive land consolidation and ecological restoration. It features not only spaceship-like agricultural greenhouses and aeroponic "fog-grown" vegetables but also a space that interprets architectural aesthetics to its peak.
Today, let’s dive into the texture of this project and appreciate an aesthetic practice that pays tribute to "Rammed Earth" with "Flexible Stone," connecting to the future.
The core building of the Future Farm leaves a first impression of "serenity." Unlike typical agricultural facilities that often feel cold or industrial, it carries a warm, heavy texture, as if it naturally grew from the land itself.
At the beginning of material selection, the client established a design tone of "locality" and "contextualization," wishing for the building itself to tell the story of the land. After repeated comparisons, they chose our Rammed Earth series flexible stone, supplemented by Fine Texture stone for detailed accents.
Why Rammed Earth? Because it represents the foundation of farming civilization—the soul of the "Field." When sunlight spills over the facade, a sense of primitive power emerges spontaneously.
You might wonder why the texture on this wall looks so natural, so real, even carrying a weight of history. This is the greatest highlight and craftsmanship of this project.
The prototype for our Rammed Earth flexible stone comes from the [Lin'an Museum], designed by a team led by Mr. Wang Shu, the first Chinese Pritzker Architecture Prize winner. We used modern technology to "invite" the rugged, mottled, yet orderly beauty of the authentic rammed earth walls from Lin'an to Linping.

Our technical team traveled to Lin'an to perform a rubbing and replication of the real rammed earth walls in Wang Shu’s work. This was not just a copy of color, but a precise capture of soil texture and the marks of time. What we see is not just a building material, but a flowing piece of art.
In modern farm design, the biggest taboo is "abruptness." How to maintain a pastoral atmosphere while having high-tech facilities? The answer is: Fusion.
From the careful sampling in 2023 to the perfect delivery in 2024, we used pieces of flexible stone carrying the architectural lineage of Wang Shu to clothe this "Future Farm" in a coat of "Chinese warmth." Tianlifang · Linping Future Farm is the future of agriculture and a return to building materials. Here, technology reconciles with the soil, and the future blends with the past.
