Louta Town in Xiaoshan is an ancient town with over 1,100 years of history. In 2020, Louta was recognized as a "Provincial Model for Beautiful Towns" in Zhejiang. Behind this honor lies a significant contribution from JUSTONE.

Between June and August 2018—in less than three months—over 16,000 square meters of exterior walls were renovated. By flexibly combining Travertine, Granite, and Brick series, every building was given a unique color scheme. This remains a landmark practice for JUSTONE in the field of urban renewal.

Urban Renewal: The Mission of an Era

Urban development has shifted from expansion to the optimization of existing stock. In the era of high-quality development, urban renewal is a comprehensive and systematic strategic action. In 2025 alone, 27,100 old urban residential communities were renovated in China. The market for urban renewal is becoming the largest growth engine for the building materials industry.

Solving the "Hardest Problems" of Old Town Renovation

Renovating facades in old towns has long faced a dilemma. On one hand, traditional materials suffer from fading, peeling, and tile falling hazards. On the other hand, these projects have rigid requirements:

• Safety First: Eliminating risks of falling debris.
• Efficiency: Street-front shops and residents cannot endure long construction cycles.
• Non-disruptive: Minimizing noise and dust for residents and operating businesses.
• Aesthetic Diversity: Avoiding "one-size-fits-all" designs; each building should have its own character.

Against this backdrop, JUSTONE Flexible Stone became the ideal choice for Louta Town.

Three Products, Flexible Application

The Louta project utilized three JUSTONE series: Travertine, Granite, and Brick Veneer.

• The Travertine series creates a warm, porous texture that complements the historic atmosphere of the ancient town.

• The Granite series provides a solid, heavy foundation, giving buildings a sense of presence.

• The Brick Veneer series restores the rustic charm of traditional walls.

Instead of simple stacking, these materials were mixed flexibly based on each building's characteristics—some featured travertine, others used granite bases, and corners were finished with brick veneer.

Each building has its own "expression" while remaining part of a harmonious whole.

At the start of the project, the design studio conducted thorough research on JUSTONE products. The client team then visited our existing projects, such as Wenyuan Primary School. After witnessing the actual performance and construction efficiency firsthand, they finalized the decision to use JUSTONE.
